Frequently Asked Questions

Is the IB an exclusive programme with high tuition fees?

Langkaer is a government funded school without tuition fees, and we accept all students irrespective of gender, social status, race, age and culture.

Do you have to be really smart to take an IB?

While the IB programme is academically challenging, students do not need to fear that they will not be accepted unless they have the highest grades. Langkaer and the IB programme prioritise a willingness to work hard and a passion for learning. If you comply with these qualities and have adequate grades and good English skills, the IB is definitely an option for you.

Is there a lot of homework?

Students should expect to spend several hours doing homework a day. Teachers try to plan their assignments so students will not feel overwhelmed, however managing your homework gives you good time management skills. Our advice to you is to do your homework as it is set to avoid any last minute late night stress.

Can students transfer from one IBDP school to another?

Because the IB was originally created to allow the easy transfer of schools for expatriate children, the DP programme itself is the same at all IB World School. This makes it easier to transfer from IB school to IB school. However, subject choices and subject content may vary as may the core requirement (Extended Essay, TOK and CAS) deadlines.
